Offshelf is a browser extension that saves web pages you choose into a library on your own device.

What Offshelf stores

• The pages you save: their text, images, links, titles and author names.
• Your settings, reading progress, tags and stars.

All of it is stored in your browser's storage (IndexedDB and chrome.storage) on your device.

What Offshelf sends

Nothing is sent to the developer or to any third party. Offshelf has no accounts, no servers, no analytics and no trackers.

When you save a page, Offshelf downloads that page's images from the sites that host them, so they are available offline. Links in saved pages open only when you click them.

When Offshelf reads a page

Only when you ask it to: by clicking the toolbar button, pressing the save shortcut, or choosing Save page or Save selection from the right-click menu.

Permissions

Offshelf asks for access to other websites only when you click "Fix missing images", and only for the image host that needs it. You can revoke that access at any time in Settings → Permissions.

Sharing and use

Your data is never sold, shared, used for advertising, or used to decide creditworthiness.

Your control

• Delete any saved item from the library.
• Export items as HTML, Markdown or PDF, and back up or restore your whole library as a file.
• Removing the extension deletes everything it stored.

Changes

Any change to this policy will be posted here with a new effective date.
